Tsalagi Spring Break

Beginning in March 2008, the 20/20 program has sponsored an Alternative Spring Break for RCOE students. Students travel to the Qualla Boundary, home to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian to work with Cherokee children at the Dora Reed Center (Cherokee Head Start) and at Cherokee Elementary School. ASU senior Nicole Lemmon said the experience was "a personally rewarding and educational experience." Cassie Ledbetter called the trip "inspiring" and "a life changing experience."

Lisa Hash said last year's Tsalagi (Cherokee) Spring Break "made me feel inspired and energized about teaching."
