Pizza vs. Poverty

In recognition of January being Poverty Awareness Month the 20/20 Program partnered with local businesses for the first Pizza versus Poverty project. On the last three Fridays of January elementary education majors and faculty picked up and delivered pizzas to needy local families. These families were identified through a partnership with local churches: Saint Elizabeth's Catholic Church and Bethany Lutheran Church. Thanks to the efforts of these students and faculty, 10 families and a group staying at the Oasis shelter house received hot meals. All told, 23 adults and 14 children were fed thanks to the project.

The 20/20 program would like to thank Dominos, Little Caesars, Papa John's and Food Lion for being wonderful corporate sponsors of this program.
